Polyculturae

About Polyculturae

Polyculturae is a leading Italian non-profit Association of Agricultural Producers dedicated to the recovery, conservation, and promotion of biodiversity within wetland agro ecosystems.

Promoted and managed directly by organic farmers, Polyculturae protects natural environments through a transdisciplinary agroecological approach, combining traditional agricultural practices with a strict collaboration alongside agro biodiversity by developing sustainable food systems, participatory platforms, and innovative quality labels. Its mission is to transform agricultural landscapes info climate-resilient, multifunctional ecosystems that empower local farming communities while safeguarding vital planetary biodiversity.

Polyculturae's role in the consortium

Polyculturae acts in REMEDI mainly as Italian Pilot Site Leader in the Ticino River Basin. Polyculturae actively collaborates in trans-Mediterranean scientific monitoring and coordinating the on-the-ground implementation of agroecology polyculture and regenerative practises on Italian pilot site.

Polyculturae also supports the model integration and the definition of governance guidelines, co-creating context-sensitive business structures and market certification pathways to secure the economic sustainability of regenerative wetland farming landscapes.
